Ana Pessoa

I am passionate about the effects of music in the brain and psyche, my approach is client centred and judgment free, everyone is welcome. I am fluent in Portuguese and English and, having worked with clients and supervisees from all corners of the world, I provide all the services listed in either languages.

Having started my career as a classically trained pianist, I completed university degrees in piano and opera studies in Portugal where I am originally from. I have dedicated over 15 years to a career in music performance in solo recitals, collaborations with orchestras, and as an accompanist to opera singers. Already living in the UK, I have completed an MA in Music Therapy from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, and later became a Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow, specialised in acquired brain injury and trauma. I am HCPC registered, and, alongside my private clinical practice I lead the Music Therapy department of a neuro-rehabilitation facility in Kent and I am an Associate Lecturer of the MA in Music Therapy at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.I am a Jungian Analyst-in-training at the C. G. Jung Institute Zürich (CGJIZ) in Switzerland. My work as a Jungian Analyst is steered under the support of training at the CGJIZ, which includes the requirement to conduct the analysis under the supervision of recognised CGJIZ supervisors which ensure excellency of practice. I am currently based between London and Cambridge, but I work with clients from all over the world.
